RadioValve has been broadcasting 24 hours a day since Febuary 28th 1998. Before the Valve, starting in August of 1996, we were co-conspiritors in one of the earliest Techno music webcasts on the Net... Electronic Air, a weekly 2-hour program also broadcast on the airwaves from community radio station KGNU.Our premier RadioValve webcast featured Mix Master Morris Live from the Fiske Planetarium on February 28th, 1998 1000 Words magazine ranked us in the Top 5 Electronic Music Sites of the time. URB Magazine in their November 1999 issue gives us kudos for our "unique set-up" which distinguishes us "from sites with a more cookie cutter format". CMJ ranked us Site of the Week in the August 10, 1998 Edition of their New Music Report. The Iron Feather Journal, thinks RadioValve is the best of both worlds, blending mainstream qualities of reliability and professional presentation with damn good underground Choonz... Catalyst, a magazine out of Portland, OR characterizes the 'Valve as "bypassing the corruption of corporate owned media". We'd have to agree. Since these various accolades (and more) have been bestowed upon us, we've been around the world representin' electronic music as much as we can. But it doesn't really matter that much anymore. As mcuh as RadioValve has been a pioneer, perhaps we've always been a bit too far ahead of the curve as well. Like some wise-ass once said "If you build it, they will come and sue you for it"... or words to that effect. |
